Disney plans to bring new a life to an old tale of adventure with the re-creation of “Beauty and the Beast.” Bonny Eagle film fanatics are ready to see it.
Recently, the world-famous film company has remade several of its classic stories that have won the hearts of so many children. These include live-action films such as “Maleficent” and “Cinderella.” Now Emma Watson is set to portray Belle in the 2017 version of “The Beauty in the Beast,” a casting decision that is sure to make the film a box-office hit.
“I want to see it just because she’s in it,” said senior Kyaunna Libby, echoing the feelings of many Emma Watson fans.
Watson, 24, has become popular and well-known thanks to her role as Hermione Granger in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.” She continued to play Hermione in all eight Harry Potter movies, while also starring in others such as, “Noah” and “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.”
Movie enthusiast and Global Village teacher, Mr. Dustin Droggitis, agrees that, "Emma Watson is amazing .... I’m pretty excited. I love “Beauty and the Beast." It’s my favorite Disney story."
According to entertainment press reports, Watson has stated just how excited she is to be playing Belle in the live-action version, and how hopeful she is for the movie’s success. It seems that she has had a fascination with the character her whole life. Being an outspoken feminist, Watson seems well suited to the part.
Soon after the news was leaked, Watson posted to her Facebook page. “It was such a big part of my growing up. It almost feels surreal that I’ll get to dance to ‘Be Our Guest’ and sing ‘Something There’. My six-year-old self is on the ceiling - heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can’t wait for you to see it,” she writes.
While many fans are looking forward to this remake, there are mixed views on how audiences feel about the new “reboot” of the classic musical. Some are very concerned with how the character of The Beast will appear in live-action filming, and how they will somehow manage to create a vision for him as a terrifying beast without going too far. They’ll have to wait until 2017 to find out.
