The Bonny Eagle High School Scots football won a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Cheverus to bring the gold ball back to Bonny Eagle Saturday, 31-28. You can watch the Scots win the state championship with this link. The Scots had made it to the title game by defeating Thornton Academy by a score of 28 to 13 last weekend, earning the Western Maine Class A championship. Cheverus had defeated Portland 22-19 to become the Eastern Maine Class A champions. This was Bonny Eagle’s first appearance in the state championship game at Fitzpatrick Stadium since 2008 when it won the state title. It is the school’s fifth state championship. |
